Shack Undermine 2009

A temporary public sculpture on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University. Sited above the former underground memorial sculpture 'Translocations' by Magdelena Jetlova. The underground memorial was filled in after the university refused to buy it from the family who commissioned it. My sculpture, ontop of the former site, appears as a miner’s shack. Looking through the shack's narrow openings a partial view of a mineshaft is revealed.

The Garage 2009

A double garage is squatted, renovated and christened as a contemporary art space. Located in the decaying steel town of Braddock Pennsylvania. This revived and freshened space overlooks an active steel mill. This is also the site of Carnegie's first steel mill and nearby the historic Homestead strike. A new roof was built, electricity brought in, and walls dry walled. The intent of the space is to provide a rent free site for showing contemporary artwork away from the art market and institution.

Shed 2009

What appears to be a backyard garden shed is actually an insulated and drywalled sleeping cabin. Built on land, without the owner's permission, garden shed provides a living space for a mere five hundred dollars. A hidden entrance allows for discrete access.
